Leo Goretti is an Italian-Swiss historian and activist, based in London. Leo was born in Arezzo in 1983. Between 2002 and 2007, he studied history and philosophy at the University of Florence, then he moved to England to do a PhD in Italian History at the University of Reading. His research interests as an academic are communist and labour history, history of agriculture and youth cultures. Leo has written a book on the history of Chianti and several academic articles; he has also taught modules on the Russian Revolution, and organised several events, including a conference, seminars, workshops etc. He has been involved in the 2010 student movement in Britain, and has written non-academic pieces for Gli Altri and Counterfire. |
